Jennifer Melyan, AMFT, APCC

Bilingual Therapist | English and Mandarin Chinese
She/Her

With dual degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling, Jennifer provides thoughtful, bilingual therapy in English and Mandarin Chinese for teens, adults, couples, and families. She works with clients facing anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem issues, life transitions, relationship challenges, and family conflict, with a special interest in supporting adolescent girls and women who feel overwhelmed by pressure, self-criticism, body image concerns, or uncertainty about their identity, direction, or future. Jennifer offers a warm, grounded, and thoughtful space where clients can slow down, gain insight, and make meaningful changes that feel sustainable in everyday life.

Jennifer integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and insight-oriented work to help clients better understand their emotions, manage stress, and shift patterns that no longer serve them. She also provides relationship counseling and family therapy, helping clients strengthen communication, navigate conflict more effectively, and build healthier, more connected relationships. With previous experience as a teacher, along with a background in career counseling and executive coaching, Jennifer is especially well-suited to support students, families, and professionals dealing with school stress, workplace pressure, leadership challenges, and questions about life direction. Clients often experience her as warm, insightful, encouraging, and grounded, with a style that blends compassion, clarity, and gentle accountability.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading, writing plays, attending live theater and concerts, weight lifting, hula dancing, walking in nature, traveling, and spending time with her dogs. She also loves Jane Austen and occasionally participates in Regency dances and balls.
